Hi everyone, here is part 3 of the lovely showcase of work. Just a small selection that came out of the Mixed Media Mandala class I taught earlier in the year. If you missed the other parts, here they are: part 1 {doodles} and part 2 {collage}

This journey is a beautiful progression from mandala doodles and loosening up to exploring paint, collage/other materials and then onto the Mixed Media Mandala Masterpiece where students create a final piece of artwork to hang on their wall.

So part 3 showcases a few of the finished mandala paintings full of layers, depth and colour. Week 3 was all about creating the layered backgrounds, then students created a final painting on canvas using their favourite techniques and types of mandalas from the first 2 weeks of class.  Some are still finishing up their lovely masterpieces so here are just a few that are finished with permission from the lovely students.

Thanks again to all who took part. I am excited to see more of your artwork emerge as you continue on with the mandala making journey.

Katie Flowers

Gorgeous vibrant mandala from Katie Flowers This mandala absolutely pops and is so energizing. I also love hoe Katie used a completely different colour palette in her other piece below. Absolutely stunning work.

Natalie Stokell

Natalie loved using sacred geometry in her final pieces, I really like all the subtle design work and the contrast of symmetrical and non-symmetrical. (pieces above and below)

Sigrun Sigurdardottir

Sigrun mandala 3

Beautiful and subtle, Sigrun chose a combination of collage ad paint for this lovely piece.

Barbara Crompton

Collage Mandala 3

This was Barbara‘s first online class and being a textile artist, she really did a great job of exploring all of these new techniques. I love how Barbara has taken her knowledge of fabric and sewing and combined it with what she also learnt in this class. A wonderful finished mandala on canvas.

Donna Wynn

The wonderfully colourful mandala’s above and below are from Donna Wynn. Gorgeous background layers on canvas and love that there is little pen detail added also.

Natasha Devaud

This gorgeous colour energy mandala is from Natasha, who also took my Colour Energy class last year. I love how she has used just one image for the background and let it come through the main mandala image. Absolutely beautiful!

Thank you to all the wonderful ladies who took my class and traveled through this amazing Mixed Media Mandala journey together. You are all so inspiring and talented.
