It’s a little rainy and wet here today (my plants are loving it!) so I am posting a mandala I actually created a few days ago….. like my nature mandala from last week I gathered colourful little found objects from nature to use {I only use natural materials that have fallen to the ground or found – I never pick anything}.
It’s amazing how much colour is around and I forget that it is actually February! Lots of reds, pinks, purples and yellows are making my local area so vibrant and colourful.
I really connected to this little creation – probably because of the gorgeous colours and like all mandala creations, I found myself in a meditative state as I created it. I also had the sound of ocean waves in the background which created a natural calming rhythm.
This particular mandala felt very tribal to me. I think it was the strong wooden elements pointing outwards like points on a star. I also adore the white rustic feel of the doughnut shape object in the center with the bright colours all around.
As I mentioned, Mandala’s take us into a meditative state whilst creating them and it is very easy to become attached to these lovely little creations, especially when they are so precious – made from natural & found objects. One of the amazing parts of this process is leaving this nature mandala right where I created it {this is the first one I left behind} for others to find on their own daily explorations or perhaps the breeze will change it slightly and “mess it up”. Being able to detach myself and let this go is such an important part of this too, the joy and creation is all in the process. I am continuing my own journey in the art of letting go as much as I can.
I am so loving this new creative outlet I have created for myself and the process that accompanies it. I am so interested to see how it evolves….
Other nature mandala’s I have made so far in the series……

This mandala series is chock FULL of juicy color! I love that one can fall into a meditative state when creating one and I love that it can help one to ‘let go’ of the outcome – I must try this myself!
