HELLO! and welcome to First Friday Giveaways.
A monthly feature where I’ll be offering a fabulous giveaway from myself, sponsors or the universe in general!
This month is all about letters and multi colors {one color being orange} on the Color Challenge
So of course our giveaway this month is something related to letters and I chose the color orange to help us spark more creativity!
This month’s ONE LUCKY WINNER will be sent:
#1 a selection of collage papers with a letter/mail theme, #2 – some orange pot pouri + “orange scent”, #3 sticky letters to use in your artwork orย in your journal AND #4 some orange colored and scented candles. ๐
TO WIN: Simply post a comment below something about the color orange or hand-written letters – what do they remind you of, do you have a poem, a story or just something you remember about these themes. The winner will be chosen randomly and posted back here on Tuesday.
Have a great weekend everyone!

I love the look of orange – especially a deeper, warmer burnt orange – but it makes me sad that my skin can’t wear the colour. Orange is a happy colour to me. When we were dating, my husband gave me a dozen roses for my birthday and they were yellow with orange tips – my favourite! I told him so and said that I loved them because they look so happy and his jaw dropped and he said that’s exactly why he chose them. Hand-written letters remind me of the stash of cards in my desk at work – I send one or two to my husband at his job each week with a little note to make him smile. When we got married, we went to buy postage for the invitations and I was shocked to discover the current stamp was one with a photo of two bunnies facing each other “kissing” – too perfect! Those are my random thoughts on orange and letters. ๐
Orange reminds me of my bedroom when I was a teenager. I had white wallpaper with single stems of orange roses all over it, and an orange bed cover. I thought it looked amazing at the time, sadly I don’t have any photos. My dog chewed holes in the bed cover!
I love orange! I”m a Florida native so I may be a bit partial, but nothing brightens my day more than a happy bowl of oranges sitting on my kitchen counter.
Back in the ’80s, I hated orange. It had a brownish tint to it and reminded me of old motels and tacky restaurants. Somehow, orange has now grown brighter and filled with yellows and reds and pinks, and I love it!
The color orange reminds me of the color of my twin girls faces when they ate too many sweet potatoes as toddlers! Too cute!
My grandma would make homemade potpourri for the winter holiday. She would save her orange peelings and add them to some water, a little allspice, a little vanilla, a cinnamon stick and let it simmer on the wood stove. It was just heavenly to walk in her house in the fall. To this day I do the same thing with my orange peelings.
