“Bright and sunshiny”

Yellow like the sun, full of enlightenment and optimism. It stimulates our brain, knowledge, nervous system and memory.

Wear and surround yourself with yellow to present a happy and cheery, uplifting disposition. Use it around your studio to help keep a clear your mind, and improve memory and decision making.

Yellow in design

Yellow can stimulate the appetite so you may see many fast food restaurants use yellow in their logos or advertising. Yellow in design can also promote joyfulness and the freshness of spring.

Yellow stories

* During the tenth century in France, the doors of traitors and criminals were painted yellow.

* 75% of the pencils sold in the United States are painted yellow.

* In Aztec culture, yellow symbolized food because it was the color of corn, the primary food of the Aztec people.

* In China, yellow was the color of emperors during both the Ming dynasty and the Qing dynasty.

* Yellow is psychologically the happiest color in the color spectrum.

Yellow energy

Think about the way that yellow makes you feel.

Yellow is associated with the solar plexus which is linked to the stomach, vitality and personal power. When this chakra is open, it can empower you and help you feel strong.

Yellow is full of creative and intellectual energy. Always use yellow note pads. It will help turn dreams and goals into reality.

The shade of yellow can also determine its effect: Yellow-green can mean deceit, and creates a disoriented feeling. Orange-yellow gives a sense of establishment. Clean light yellow clears the mind, making it active and alert.

Yellow for the 5 senses

Smell: Lemon Peel: A very strong, fresh lemon scent. Great for summer, very refreshing. Aromatherapy benefits: Uplifting, refreshing and rejuvenating

Taste: The juiciness and vibrant tropical flavor of pineapple balances the tastes of sweet and tart. (is your mouth watering?)

Listen to: “Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini” by Paul Vance and Lee Pockriss

Say:“Some painters transform the sun into a yellow spot; others transform a yellow spot into the sun.” Pablo Picasso

See: Why not grab your camera and explore the world outside your door to find yellow in the world around you?
