An aurora is a natural light display in the sky particularly found in the high latitude region such as arctic and antarctic. It is caused by the collision of energetic charged particles with atoms in the high altitude atmosphere.

In northern latitudes, the effect is known as the aurora borealis (or the northern lights), and then aurora australis (or the southern lights) is it’s southern counterpart.

A lovely example of how beautiful energy can be seen on this earth. I would love to be able to capture this on canvas somehow.
