Hi everyone, I took a break from First Friday’s in May to host the lovely “Stories from the Universe” series. (hope you enjoyed that! – free e-book with all the compiled stories coming next week so be sure to sign up to my mailing list to be one of the first to receive it)
I had the pleasure to visit Lotta Jansdotter’s lovely open studio event last weekend. Such a pleasure to meet Lotta and see her airy bright studio in Brooklyn. Whilst enjoying a glass of bubbly, my friends and I perused her inspiring space. Lotta is a successful self taught artist and enjoys seeing her gorgeous surface pattern designs on many products. She was so friendly and welcoming and was a delight to spend time soaking up her creative aura. Learn more about Lotta here.

I am really enjoying this site: http://www.dailyartfixx.com/ and am inspired everyday by the unusual and edgy art they present!
I happened to do a post on what inspired me this week. Kismet, it’s about painted and handcrafted art bags I was inspired by. You can be be inspired too. http://msartisttheresahuse.blogspot.com/2011/06/art-bag-inspiration.html
I discovered the photography of Christopher Boffoli – in particular the photographs of tiny people on various kinds of food! I love the subject matter – funny, sweet, sometimes a bit disturbing! But the main inspiration for me is in the amazing colours and composition.

Happy weekend to you Louise – it’s beautiful here too! 🙂
Hi Louise. So great you met Lotta! I have admired her work for a long time.
I am inspired this week by Maegan from Life Set To Words. In her post she shared about her donating her hair, and it turned out that I did the same thing, for the same place, at the same time!

I had a fabulous meet up with our lovely DWYL retreaters Rachel Hazell and Rhiannon Connelly in Edinburgh. It was so much fun to connect with them again, and see some of Rachel’s paper art on display too.
Sounds strange but my inspiration this week came from the decluttering I am doing in my house right now, enabling me to make a creative space all of my own. It enabled me to lift some weight off my shoulders that is holding my creativity back and I am inspired to create the workspace to honour my creativity.

This image is my inspiration and has now become my desktop wallpaper.

I simply get the opportunity to dream however I choose everyday. I can answer with something wild & crazy, simple & fun or practical.
Thanks for the opportunity to win some Lotta goodies. Lotta herself
is inspiration every day, but the other thing inspiring me at the
moment is the combination of orange and blue. I found this fab Flickr
Mosaic that I pinned to my Pinterest board (another inspiring space)

I’ve been inspired creatively this week by Christy Tomlinson and the
3 Hearts online workshop that she’s currently teaching. I’m also been
inspired emotionally and creatively by Nina Bagley’s Ornamental Blog
and Susannah Conway’s “Notes on Unravelling the Heart” blog. The
enthusiasm and creativity of your blog are also inspiring. What an
amazing time to be alive!
honestly, i ordered lotta’s book from our library a few weeks ago and it finally came in this week! so…i’ve been reading that and am completely inspired! : Lotta Jansdotter’s Handmade Living: A Fresh Take on Scandinavian Style…gorgeous!
