Welcome to First Fridays! A new monthly feature where I’ll post some fun, inspirational or useful finds and also offer a fabulous giveaway from myself, sponsors or the universe in general!
This months FIND comes from the lovely Kate England who I met on the e-course “In the Fish Bowl” last September. She has some great articles and links to useful info on being a creative entrepreneur. Like many of us, we host our blogs and have a presence on many online networks, but I learned a great deal reading through the links that Kate kindly shared, so I wanted to re-share with you too and give us some food for thought on doing some spring cleaning in our online world. Here are a few I really liked:
- In an Abundant World, Scarcity is Opportunity. Another superb read from Crafting an MBA – business thinking for designers and makers.
- Your creative business blog & its sidebar. Is your sidebar like a sock drawer? Here’s how to get your blog’s sidebar to support your creative business. From Tara Gentile.
- Why You’re Undervaluing Yourself (And How to Stop) – the title says it all – from Productive Flourishing.
I had the pleasure of meeting Lisa in person last Sunday when she stopped by my art tent at the Hoboken Arts & Music Festival with her family. Lisa has two gorgeous little girls and is a fun bubbly person which shines through in her colorful whimsical girl images.
Check out her Etsy store here.
“Tattoo Girl (Change The Way You See Not The Way You Look)”
Winner will be chosen next Tuesday and I’ll repost your find. We will ship the prize anyway so don’t be shy, this is open to all.
Happy First Friday and have a fabulous weekend all
Great inspirational quote "destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for: it is a thing to be achieved."- William Jennings Bryant
Love inspirational quotes, I live by them daily!
Love your artistic site of inspiration.
Keep inspiring 🙂

I ran across this quote on the back of a Trader Joe's receipt of all places:
"I like nonsense. It wakes up the brain cells." ~Dr. Seuss
Yes, it does! So this weekend I'm going to get into lots of nonsense with a little bit of nonsense thrown in for fun 🙂
Learned via SARK in the dream boogie class..
"Remember to delight yourself first and then others will be truly delighted."

I'm not sure who to give credit to on this one. "The biggest mistake we can ever make is being too afraid to make one."
Some really useful stuff there Louise. Look forward to more of the same! And how cute is that print?
My best find of today is TED (www.ted.com) which is over 600+ speeches from incredibly clever/interesting/wacky people who are generally out-of-the-box thinkers, talking about some of the big questions in life. And they are all free!
Was introduced to 'TED' by Christina Sbarro who I have just interviewed on my blog (another inspiring lady, just like yourself!)
One saying I like a lot while creating a piece is "progress, not perfection". Only becauseI am so hard on myself.
Glad you found these links helpful, Louise! Good luck with your new feature!
