Magazines are one of my favourite colour resource. They always have really gorgeous and contemporary combinations. I take lots of inspiration from them.
And of course nature. What better colour resource is there than nature.
Hope you are traveling well my friend.
Hi Louise. The craftsanity podcasts are my fav of all the crafty podcasts.
Pantone is a great color resource.

What a great idea for a book! I would love to read this one for sure. I love resource books like the "color bible" and other arty books. I am just learning mixing colors and all that… it's all very exciting!
Thanks for sharing your wonderful giveaway.

I have been inspired by your color challenge this summer. I did not do as much painting as I had hoped, but I did enjoy seeing what the others were up to. I got a lot of ideas. I think I enjoyed yellow the best and now have been noticing all things yellow.
Can't wait to see you soon!!!!

moqHi Louise! What a cool giveaway! Not familiar with the podcasts but will check it out. Thanks!
I have so enjoyed the colour challenge – I didn't post much but have been doing them. Thanks so much for that!
One of my favourite colour resources is at Nita Leland's website.

What a fantastic giveaway!
Thanks!
Hi Louise. I adore color! I like to take paint chips from Home Depot and Pottery Barn for inspiration. I once did a whole painting based on a Pottery Barn paint chip wheel that came in the mail one day (how did they know to send this to me?!). I cut it up and put pieces right into the painting. Such fun!
Bold earthy colors are my favorite – therefore the fall really is my season. It's when my creative juices get flowing like mad and playing with color just makes me HAPPY.
OOOH! I'd love a copy of this book…
I have to say the biggest color influence for me was creating my own color wheel in an art class; learning how to mix the basic trio of red, blue and yellow, with a little white or black was the most eye-opening experience and even today helps me to see the layers of tone/undertone that go into colors we see in our lives everyday.
And learning that Van Gogh related to color better than he could relate to people I totally understood =-)
I have to say Louise, these past four weeks have been great! I have really enjoyed the Colour Challenge and I have met many wonderful artists and made some really great connections π
It was good to create in colours that I wouldn't normally be drawn to… Thanks again!
"Drawing is feeling. Color is an act of reason." (Pierre Bonnard)
I've been longing to add this book to my library for over a year now! Being in nature inspires and teaches me a lot about colour and mixing.
Hi Louise! Haven't seen you since artfest :o) Loved following eveyone's stuff on the color challenge. Nature is my favorite color resource…like the sun shining thru a new birch leaf…mmm never a more beautiful shade of green! Also flickr is really inspiring for color!! Would love to win! Im such an art book geek!! :o)
Thank you, Louise, for the Colour Challenge! It really gave me a chance to step outside my regular work and take on a new challenge one colour at a time.
The giveaway book looks fantastic! I love learning the history of things, and pigments are so interesting!
I wonder if they'll mention that it takes actual gold to create a real ruby pink colour in glass? ^_^
The Creative Color Challenge was brilliant – thank you!
I'm a visual person & love color. My color inspiration can come from books & magazines (both art & interior design); papers; flowers & nature; product packaging; fashion; interior paint samples; and color wheels.
I also think Golden Paint's website is a good reference:
