“Nurturing”
Pink is a color I always come back to.
It is my truth – the color that makes me happy and warms my heart. I always feel so cheery and rosy when I wear pink and many know me as the lady with the pink scarf!
Pink energy
When you think of the colour pink, what comes to mind? To me bright pink is confident and energizing. It draws this passionate energy from red, which is then softened by pure white being added into the mix. The lighter tones can bring out emotions such as kindness and compassion and many associate pink with the heart, childhood and candy floss. Pink can also elicit a sugar craving!
Do you wear pink? It is said that you are affectionate, sympathetic and understanding if you do and when you pick pink out of your wardrobe, there is a possibility it’s because you are looking for some affection or a playful connection to your childhood.
Pink stories
* Pink wasn’t always a feminine colour. In fact before the 1920’s it was actually a colour associated with men.
* In 1930s/40s – Italian fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli introduced the new name for the color “hot pink” known as “shocking pink” to the western fashion world. (which was more of a magenta).
* In Japan, the color pink has a masculine association. The annual spring blooming of the pink-blossomed cherry trees (the Sakura) is said to represent the young Japanese warriors who fell in battle in the prime of life (the Samurai).
* Nowadays the pink ribbon is a globally recognized symbol of awareness and hope to cure breast cancer. “Honeysuckle pink” was Pantone’s color for 2011
