This month I decided to stay off the computer as much as possible when attempting this challenge, and that was a challenge in itself! I have limited art materials here in Spain so I took my trusty colored pencils and sought out something different to draw on.
Even though this month didn’t come with a theme I took the beach umbrella concept and created under my own beach umbrella on the sand. Above and below are the results!

I loved being outside, creating, watching the waves roll in and out and sun glistening on the ocean as I drew on each stone
I also created my own peace stone sculpture on the beach.
How did you feel creating with these colors?

I’m so disappointed that this is the first color challenge that I wasn’t able to participate in. My (very) large textile art piece (will post a pic in the flickr group later) too ALL of my time. Happily, I made the deadline of Aug 30 and now will have time to play with color again!!
Sorry you won’t be joining us Valerie but looking forward to seeing this new piece of yours! xx
Hi Valerie, sorry not to see your lovely work this month, but glad you got your textile piece finished! See you later this month for September hopefully. xxx
Never imagined that you could draw on rocks with basic colored pencils–brilliant! They’re just lovely Louise! Loved the rainbow challenge–can’t wait to see what you come up with for us this month!
Hi there, I didn’t realize either, I was so overjoyed when my pencils loved this surface. They are watercolor pencils so not sure if this made them more porous for the surface, but these were lovely materials to play with last month. xxx
