Wow! So much sunshine was created, above is just a few of the great creations posted. Please check out the flickr group for more and to leave comments on everyone’s entries. Well done to all who created some loveliness in Sunflower Yellow. If you are a little behind, no worries, you can continue to post to the group as and when.
Here’s my mixed media creation. I myself found this color quite a challenge! But once I got going, I really enjoyed yellow. π
What did you all think of creating in this color? How did you get on? Was it difficult, easy, eye opening? Did you discover something?
Please leave your comments below to wrap up our yellow challenge for week #1
Check back Sunday 4pm EST for the next color! woohoo!
I LOVE your piece Louise.
I found this color a bit hard to work with. I love yellow but I found using it on it's own was a bit challenging. But hey, it is a challenge after all.
It was a little hard to scan/photograph the piece. But overall it really makes me happy to see the bursts of yellow.
I think everyone did a fab job and I can't wait to see the next color.

Hi Louise,
I agree with Dana.
Thanks so much for doing this. I was a little late to the party this week, but i just finally got something up and had so much fun doing it. hope you'll go visit and see. π Sydney
can't wait for next week.
I knew this would be difficult. Teaching watercolor and studio art, I always have told my students that yellow is a powerful color, therefore very tricky to work with. Van Gogh was a master at it. Thanks for the challenge!

this was great fun Louise! everyone's work at the group looked absolutely AMAZING!! and i love that some folks worked in jewelry…maybe i will create a garment with one the future color challenges π
it was fun to see how much yellow surrounds us in the world, though it is usually to caution us =-
looking forward to the next color!
I love all the delicious yellow art pieces shown! It was an interesting colour to use. I only had a couple of paints in sets. I actually went out after and bought a few different shades of yellow. want to add more yellow now!
I am really enjoying this challenge.
I used thread and felt and it was interesting to see the difference on a white and black background. And to creat texture as well.
Great fun and I am hoping to stretch myself too.
All so very beautiful. Still have intentions on doing a little yellow mosaic…lovely work everyone π
WOW! This was an amazing color to start off with! Since I have a "fear of color" ~ what an excellent way to break out of my comfort zone at the get go! Amazed & inspired by everyone's work.
Emily.
My yellow piece is finished β late, but finished! I have popped it on flickr and drafted a blog post for tomorrow. Now if Iβm smart I wonβt leave Raspberry Red till the last minute! Iβm much more used to working in red so hopefully I wonβt find it as challenging as yellow!
Yellow is one of my favorite color and i love each and everyone's creations! Very inspiring! Have a lovely merry happy day and love to you!
so cool to see what everyone came up with! i love the heart at the center, louise! it just looks like it's coming to life π

Dear Louise,
I'm so happy to be participating in your Color Challenge, as it's a great way to connect with my creativity in the color of the moment.
I have been enjoying visiting all the participants blogs, and seeing what they have shared on the color challenge and just generally getting to know them.
It has been great, and I am very grateful to you for that, for coming up with such an inventive and connective idea such as this to enable each individual to express themselves in such a way.
I love your creation, and the flow of the color and the textures in which you have used. I love seeing what which individual is coming up with.
What I am also enjoying is learning about what is happening when I create in that very moment, so this challenge is bringing me more in tune with myself in that moment of creation and what is going on – making me feel more appreciative with whatever piece of work I produce.
Interestingly enough I have also been wearing yellow, as I have been feeling the color after I have painted it, so bringing out the colors each week is bringing me more in tune with them. Especially the yellow at the moment. I am wearing a bright yellow shirt, and painted my nails yellow. (which I don't do very often.)
Again thank you, and look forward to the next color. YEY what such an exciting way to connect with oneself and others through such an idea.
I love your yellow art piece. The heart in the middle is so so perfect!!
Oh raspberry raspberry come on out to play.
WOW! You have been one busy ARTIST!
LOVE the detail in all the leaves Louise… You have started quite a revolution here. SO beautiful to see you continue to grow and inspire so many others…
Sorry I have been away this summer. Trying to keep a promise to myself I made a while ago about appreciating the summer and unplugging, being present with my family…
I will be visiting on a regular basis now… I also wanted to let you know that I signed up for ARTful Journey. (Jesse Reno's class). Can't wait to see you there my sister-firend. An AMAZING reunion awaits us all!
Love, Danielle xox
