The last few days have been a little strange for me. I’ve been blaming it on our hot, cool, rainy, sunny weather (its been all over the place, a bit like myself!). I realized I was just trying to do too many things and lost my focus. Sometimes…I can be a bit of a control freak (yep im admitting that), so when I lose my structure to my day or week, everything just goes outta whack (sound familiar?). I guess that’s just the Ebb and Flow of life and energy. So you know what…..?
I decided to stop beating myself up about it and just
go. with. the. flow.
So yesterday I gave myself permission to stop for a bit. I went to my kickboxing class (first time in ages!), took a long walk (being outside and near trees makes me feel re-energized), sat on my front step with a friend mulling over the day, saying hi to the neighbors as they walked past and finally decided after many weeks of contemplation – to purchase the “
Fire Starter Sessions” ebook, by Danielle la Porte. “spark your genius, ignite your business, make it matter” just spoke to me. (yes I admit, im addicted to ebooks/courses too!) One of the quotes she uses is :
“A strength is what you do that makes you feel strengthened! It‘s not necessarily what you‘re good at, or what you‘re capable of—it‘s what feels amazing when you do it!”…. “A weakness is stuff you do that makes you feel weakened!”
So simple right?
Yes I know it may seem obvious, but I realized I DO feel weakened when I have too many things going on and I’m “out of control” and exercising, creating, organizing, connecting and being with nature are some of the very things that make me feel strong again. I’m excited to see whatelse comes out of this ebook and I’ll be sharing some more ah ha moments with you as I work through this (Anyone else read or reading Danielle’s ebook?)
What are some of the things that make you feel strengthened?
Another realization…whether im in the ebb or the flow, structured or all over the place, is that I am very happy to be where I am. I AM Happy Everywhere.
So this is my theme song for the rest of my week. It’s so funky I cant help but tap my toes! 🙂
On a mid-week note….I am LOVING everyone’s color creations so far on this challenge, and it is truly one fabulous group of creative beings. I wanted to stop and say that its a pleasure having you all participate in this. Already a glorious display of turquoise is appearing in the flickr pool…such a delight to the eyes, check it out here. and please pop back on Saturday for the wrap up.
What an inspiring post, Louise! I just love how you're Happy Everywhere and are so open to sharing. And the song is fab-u-lous!!
And yes, what a very talented group of individuals in the Color Challenge. Thank you for bringing this all together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh Happy Day =-)
i've been reading about the fire starter sessions, and wondering… will be very interested to read what you think when you have read through. i may also buy the ebook some time in the future – am committed to some ecourses instead just now 🙂
Oh I have been thinking about purchasing the firs starter book. I'm so glad to hear it's been positive for you. Love that you took a day for yourself to get re-energized. I love days like that.
I have also checked out those fire started sessions. Would love to hear what you think. I thought it sounded wonderful!!
I also love ebooks/courses. Just purchased one.
I need to go check out the flickr pool as I haven't started my piece for this week.
HI Louise. We all feel that sometimes, and you really are going some of late, so glad to hear that you have been able to allow yourself a deep intake of breath. I haven't read the whole ebook of Dannielle's but I love her emails and I just bought the taster – I think its chapter 3 – its about strengths and weaknesses anyway. And I did love it. (although am sad to say I am total all rounder and always have been! – I find it hard to see where my strengths are!) – I did the wee test for that Marcus chap, and it seems I am a motivator…. I reckon you must be something like that, huh? you definately seem to enjoy bringing a crowd with you. I would love to get the whole FSS but I do feel I have somewhat overspent on ecourses etc of late!! trying to reign it in for now. I reckon it will be excellent. I did love the section I bought.
YAH!
i have been working with the fire starter sessions for a few months – i LOVE it.
and this week i've been taking advantage of the cooler weather and going for a 1 hour walk every morning which is really recharging my creativity and relaxing my mind.
Hey Louise
I have it, it is awesome. Worth every dollar – packed full of inspiring stuff and great resources. I did an interview with Danielle a while back – she's one smokin' lady!

What a great lesson for all of us! I know I'm all over the place myself:-)
mumm…..the color challenge was delicious!
Hello Louise, I enjoyed reading your post. I can relate. I am also enjoying your Colour Challenge, but only vicariously; there is just too much on my plate right now to get started with any artistic projects, but I am aching to get back into my studio.
If you had offered this sometime in the Fall, I would have loved to be a part of it, especially since i love playing with colours.
Great post – I can totally relate to how you were feeling – I often have way too much to do and too many thoughts it my head, and end up getting nothing done!
Sweet Louise, how I wish we could sit across from each other and drink a bottle of wine (or two…who I am I kidding…I'm Canadian…)
Would love to talk about this face to face with you. SO nice to know that I am not alone and I am in the company of other "feelers" in this world.
It's so important for us to listen, to make time to putter, and NOT be productive ALL the time!
Wish we could be unproductive side by side…
Lots of LOVE, Danielle xox

i love that simple explanation about strength and weakness- and yes, having stuff piled on me makes me feel weak.
i have heard just a bit about fire starter and it sounds great- hope you'll write a little more about it as you get into it!
