Hey everyone! I’m still deciding whether to add more to this weeks Color Challenge piece, but here it is ready for Cathy’s Found Art Friday entry.
How’s everyone doing this week?
I decided to keep it simple again this week. I did find this color a bit of a challenge as I couldnt quite get the tone of greeny blue I was looking for, but I love the image of waves crashing, bursting and changing and so “To The Sea’ we go before the summer ends.
Look at how different these images are! The one below is from a photo I took and the one above was scanned and looks nothing like the original! Not really sure if either have the exact sea green color I was looking for (again the color is so different in “real life”!) but thought I’d share both with you as I think they create different moods in their own right.
Look out for entries on Cathy’s Blog tomorrow and my wrap up post will be up on Saturday afternoon. We then have just ONE more week left for the August challenge.
I have had many people ask me if we are going to do more after the August challenge ends. I would really like to continue with some kind of ongoing monthly challenge, linked to color still but we can definitely have a play with other subjects and ideas. What do you think? I’ve so enjoyed creating with you all, I don’t want it to end. 🙂
I like the second image the best. Can't wait to show your my piece for Sea Green.
there are still a few days left of August next week – maybe just one more color??!?! 😉
though i have stated before that this would be a great yearly event in august – I've really loved this project Louise!
I'll be posting at my blog any minute now…
that's gorgeous, louise! i love the sense of motion in the waves – and it's lovely as it is 🙂
…and i would definitely like to continue painting colour themes or whatever with you! this has been really fun and i'm sad it's flown by so quickly!
This is gorgeous, Louise! I'm totally in love with it, very beautiful. The motion of the waves is amazing – it has a very good feel about it.
I'm done with my piece, but have a hard time taking pictures of it since the photos never reflect the laguna green – it always looks more like blue. Sigh. I'll post it anyway.
Your piece is beautiful! I had the same problems trying to get the pretty sea glass green. I thought it would be so simple, I don't even know how many times I painted over it to capture the colors I wanted, but it is what it is. You and I were kind of on the same wavelength (no pun intended) with our waves! It's up on my blog now, but I'll try to add it to your flickr page tomorrow.
Thanks for the challenge,
Esther
Sooooooo excited you are going to be at AAJ again in February! We can be pilgrims together!
Love the green of your picture. Working on mine now, although it is taking ages to dry between layers. Hope to have it done by tomorrow night.
Why don't you do the colour challenge once a month? There are so many different colours to explore, and it is a really interesting starting point for creating a piece
This is so lovely, Louise! I think it's very soft and inviting just like the sea. Reminds me of Juno Beach… sigh. I am posting FAF right now (had to put kids to bed first!) :))
louise, that is really beautiful! Loving the waves. :)Have a lovely merry happy weekend and love to you!
Oh Louise…that painting is FABULOUS! LOVE the greens and the life force in this painting… These are the colours that make me feel alive! Thanks for the inspiration…
PS. Isn't the reunion at AAJ going to be phenomenal??? Can't wait! xo
