mondaymandala_succulents

Hi everyone, and we are back…… I have been posting my Monday Mandala on instagram and facebook but have kinda missed having a dedicated blog post, so here I am again back on the blog….ah so nice to be here. 🙂

This week, I am inspired by Succulents. There are so many different kinds out there to explore, gorgeous greens, purples and burgundy colors and shapes. of course, these wonderful plants are natural mandala’s in themselves and the natural world is a key focus in the Mixed Media Mandala Class I run online. (come join me!)

I decided to create a couple of time-lapse videos showing my process for drawing out one of the succulents and then painting it with watercolor pencils. I also added a new page to my mandala journal with some basic line drawings for future mandala masterpieces so added that little video too. This is just a sneak peek into a tiny aspect of what we cover in the class and all videos in class have tutorials and step-by steps processes too.

Video #2. In this video I create one succulent mandala design.

I love to create all types of mandalas. This type is my favourite – loose, free, asymmetrical, not ‘perfect’, just a beautiful way to interpret the beauty of nature all around us in a mandala form.

Video #2. In this video, I create a few different line drawings

I love to draw in black pen and in this video, I simply capture the shapes and simple features of the different succulents.
