The last few months, I took a little break from creating my full moon mandala’s and it was so wonderful to get back to just doodling within a circle at the intuitive workshop last week. We meditated for a short time and then just let our right brain doodle away in our mandala. After a short while I realized mine was very ‘fourishy’, looked a little botanic, organic and the blue waves at the bottom of the circle reminded me of the ocean. So I named this month’s mandala “Under the sea”.

I’m posting a little early for the full moon appearing on August 1st/2nd. This month we have 2 full moons. The phrase “once in a blue moon” refers to when we have 2 full moons in a month and its such a rarity.

This full moon is the Sturgeon moon, where traditionally a large fish of the Great Lakes and other major bodies of water, were most readily caught during this month. I thought it was very interesting that I had the theme of water come up in my mandala even without looking into what this full moon represented.

This month Jamie Ridler who hosts a circle for the full moon dreamboards asked: “What is your intuition telling you about your dreams?”

When I think about it, following the intuition workshop from last week also, it feels like something is just under the surface in my sub-conscious,  perhaps in the sea of my being, waiting to float to the surface and reveal itself.

This time next week, I’ll be in Spain, by the ocean, taking a break for a month. I am so excited to be away from NYC, noise, traffic and many other distractions we find ourselves in, when in our usual environment. Taking a rest bite somewhere different can do wonders on our creativity and inner world. I’ll be meditating, playing on the beach, walking, reading, drawing, practicing yoga, writing and enjoying life getting back to some real basics.
